Connections Coordinator
The Connections Coordinator has a passion for connecting people and building relationships at all levels of life within Highland Park United Methodist Church. This position is responsible for helping people feel noticed, known, and cared for within Christian community.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Campus: Mockingbird
Working Hours: This is a part-time schedule for up to 24 hours per week
Anticipated
Schedule:
Monday-Wednesday, 8:30 - 3 pm; (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch break);
Sundays 8:00 - 12 pm
At certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet job demands. All church staff will be asked to support and serve during religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter, as well as Back-to-School Sunday, Serving Day, and other events as requested.
Job
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with the Connections and Community Pastor to implement systems and initiatives that lead to deeper relational connection within the congregation.
- Serve as a primary “connector” for next steps or new visitor inquiries.
- Attend weekly worship services, alternating between Cornerstone and Sanctuary, serving as a connecting presence.
- Implement visitor follow up in partnership with the Connections & Community Pastor.
- Monitor the engagement levels of assigned congregants through the Touchpoint Dashboard and Reporting to identify opportunities for invitation and connection.
- Connect relationally with visitors through calls, emails, texts, and in-person meetings to help people feel noticed, known, and cared for.
- Serve as a connector in the Hub between services on Sunday mornings.
- Follow up with Starting Point attendees by providing natural, engaging next steps to aid their spiritual formation.
Meet with congregants one-on-one to establish relationships and help them grow in their faith.
Other duties as assigned. Changes to job may occur at any time and without advance notice.
Education and Desired
Skills:
- 1+ years of ministry experience (staff or volunteer)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to spiritual development, Christian education, or comparable training and experience.
- Proven track record of fostering relationships
- Ability to be data-informed and relationally driven
- Experience building and leading volunteers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Accepts constructive criticism and applies feedback
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to be flexible

Must be a committed Christian who is versed in Wesleyan Theology and comfortable working in a United Methodist Church. Our team members are called to lead a life that becomes the gospel, and we expect them to exhibit appropriate demeanor both on and off the job.
