Come join Autism Speaks as a Manager of Community Engagement on our Southwest team, with a primary focus on the Dallas/Ft. Worth market. The role is primarily remote but requires the candidate to be located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and be willing to travel locally for events.

Purpose: Raise funds for Autism Speaks by recruiting and managing volunteers, raising awareness, and implementing fundraising and mission‑related events to achieve revenue goals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Achieve revenue goals for assigned fundraising events in the DFW market.
  • Work with supervisor to develop planning timelines, income goals, expense budgets, and participant recruitment strategies.
  • Execute events in partnership with volunteer leadership, managing committee recruitment and retention.
  • Implement fundraising strategies such as sponsorship, corporate recruitment and retention, and mission integration.
  • Support local implementation of global campaigns in collaboration with the Outreach Director for the region.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of assigned events, including logistics, data entry, acknowledgements, and materials management.
  • Provide administrative support to volunteer committees.
  • Make presentations to businesses, organizations, and community groups to secure sponsorship, recruit teams and volunteers, and manage accounts throughout the year.
  • Integrate digital marketing initiatives such as email campaigns, fundraising websites, and other digital outreach.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years of professional experience.

Experience
  • 3+ years demonstrated leadership in peer‑to‑peer fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, relationship building, networking, budget management, and volunteer mobilization. Proven track record in multi‑functional fundraising experience: special events, multiple walk events, corporate campaigns.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and implement fundraising and volunteer‑development plans.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prospect, recruit, manage, and develop volunteers.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365.
  • Database knowledge (Stratus Live and/or Luminate preferred).
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support programs and events.
  • Travel primarily related to events, including occasional overnight stays; occasional travel for team meetings and conferences may also occur.
  • Event days include setting up and moving materials as well as active on‑site engagement for prolonged periods.
  • Regular use of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must have reliable mode of transportation (automobile, valid driver’s license, and insurance).
