- Lead the development and execution of grantmaking strategies aligned to Dallas ISD priorities, district initiatives, and Dallas Education Foundation (DEF) goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with district leadership and campus stakeholders to assess needs, define project scope, and prioritize strategic opportunities to invest DEF funds.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with district leaders, community organizations, donors, and external stakeholders to support project success and long-term sustainability.
- Serve as the primary project liaison between Dallas ISD, community partners, and funding organizations, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and stakeholder engagement.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate complex grant proposals, funding requests, budgets, and supporting documentation to assess alignment, feasibility, sustainability, and potential impact.
- Research emerging trends in education, philanthropy, nonprofit management, and community engagement to inform the design, planning, and rollout of innovative programs and initiatives that support student achievement, educators, and family engagement.
- Manage a portfolio of grant-funded projects while driving execution, financial oversight, compliance, and contributing to strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives.
- Conduct program monitoring activities such as site visits, stakeholder engagements, and implementation reviews to ensure projects are delivered on scope and achieving intended outcomes.
- Establish and apply performance metrics, evaluation frameworks, and data-driven systems to measure program impact, inform decision-making, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and coordinate with high-profile, district, community, and philanthropic leaders to execute events, unveilings, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies of DEF-funded initiatives (e.g. Book Vending Machine unveilings, Career Mobile Lab Red Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Whatateacher of the Year
- Awards, TI STEM Awards, etc.).
- Drive DEF’s traditional and online social media presence, including coordinating media advisories, press releases, and social media posts.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, briefing materials, case studies, and impact summaries for district leadership, donors, foundation leadership, and the DEF Board of Directors, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, and grant/CRM systems (e.g. Submittable, Bloomerang).
- Required Bachelor’s Degree;
Master’s Degree in nonprofit management, education, public administration, business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred. - Required 5+ years of directly related experience in project management, grantmaking, nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, program management, or education-related initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects, manage grant portfolios, and develop/execute strategies aligned with organizational and district goals.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit/philanthropic practices with the ability to evaluate proposals, analyze data, assess outcomes, and make strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships across diverse stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; capable of preparing reports and making sound, independent decisions with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills; proficiency with productivity, data, and CRM tools; ability to work with diverse communities and flexible schedules.
