"I Have a Dream Foundation" Grant Writer VISTA
This project will disrupt poverty by expanding the reach of "I Have a Dream" Foundation – Dallas' (IHDF) literacy initiatives and community projects within the program. By increasing funding, this will help to advance our mission to provide more education, mentorship, and family support. The community capacity-building work will strengthen "I Have a Dream" Foundation – Dallas programming for Dream Scholars and their families, ensuring that they receive the resources they need to succeed academically and personally.
Member Duties:
The VISTA member will research the organization, develop quality proposals, write grants, and develop a system to track grants and grant activities. The activities include researching the organization's background, mission, goals, target communities, and programs. Creating grant guidelines, policies, and procedures for identifying grants consistent with the mission and goals of IHDF and the communities being served. Writing and submitting grant proposals and developing or identifying a system to track grant funds received, disbursed by the program, and follow-up reporting requirements.
Preparing monthly reports that capture all upcoming grant opportunities, funding, and deadlines. Developing a policy and procedures manual detailing the processes.
