Position SummaryThe Major Gifts Officer is a position that exemplifies The Stewpot’s future fundraising and program goals. In trying to keep pace with the rapidly‑expanding homeless population, The Stewpot serves as a leading homeless services and housing nonprofit, both in North Texas and the U.S. This Major Gifts Officer position is an exciting opportunity for you to advance the critical mission of a high‑growth nonprofit and help meet the rising need of unhoused people in the U.S.
Essential Functions- Qualify a caseload of top 150 donors $1,000+ not already included in another staff member's caseload.
- Create and execute a plan for each donor of varied monthly communications, touchpoints, and visits/experiences, a plan driven by that donor's passions and interests and communication preferences.
- Secure appropriate project information, including budgets, and create offers, proposals and requests for support.
- Create monthly reports on caseload progress.
- Perform other major donor and general fundraising activities as required by management.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training or relevant experience.
- CFRE or CAP preferred.
- Experience in development and fundraising for not-for-profit organizations;
Major Giving experience preferred. - Personable, self‑motivated approach with ability to work independently.
- Willingness to reach out to and build relationships with new people.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A demonstrated passion for service to others.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite, and donor databases. Experience with Bloomerang CRM preferred.
