This position focuses on increasing access to spay/neuter services and preventive veterinary care through community outreach and public engagement.

This position focuses on increasing access to spay/neuter services and preventive veterinary care through community outreach and public engagement.
The coordinator serves as a community ambassador, building relationships with neighborhoods, local organizations, and pet owners to improve the lives of pets and the people who care for them.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outreach in underserved neighborhoods, veterinary deserts, and high-need ZIP codes.
- Build relationships with schools, food pantries, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, libraries, and local nonprofits. Communities in Schools can be a vital resource for special events throughout the school year.
- Promote free and low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, and transport programs.
- Plan and maintain an annual calendar of outreach events, festivals, and community tabling opportunities.
- Schedule pet owners for services during outreach events and community visits.
- Assist with outreach tables, vaccine clinics, transport events, and community pet wellness programs.
- Distribute bilingual educational materials and community resources.
- Maintain outreach records, collect ZIP code and program data, and assist with reporting and grant outcomes.
- Represent the organization professionally at community meetings, neighborhood events, and partner locations.
- Collect stories from the community to share with marketing teams.
- Passion for animal welfare, humane education, and community outreach.
- Strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking to children, families, and diverse community groups.
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships within underserved communities.
- Organized and able to manage multiple schools, schedules, and outreach events.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience in education, outreach, customer service, social services, or animal welfare preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift and carry outreach materials and supplies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events and presentations.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
