Job Summary:

The Development Coordinator supports the Director of Development in planning, organizing, and executing the school’s fundraising initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with donors, collaborating with various school divisions, and engaging with parent volunteers. This position is part of a collaborative team spanning Advancement, Admissions, and Communications. By contributing to the success of these efforts, the Development Coordinator helps advance the mission and vision of the school.

Essential Functions:

The Development Coordinator consistently performs the following responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director of Development to manage project workflow and oversee day to day operations.
  • Coordinate event support and logistics for key school events, including the annual golf tournament, North Texas Giving Day, the auction, alumni events such as Homecoming, and potential development opportunities on Grandparent’s Day.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop and communicate compelling giving opportunities and themes for the annual fund, capital campaigns, year-end giving initiatives, and athletic sponsorship programs.
  • Cultivate strong donor relationships by coordinating donor stewardship efforts, including thoughtful care initiatives and appreciation gifts for donors and volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date development records by entering donations and donor notes into the development database, and ensure timely preparation and distribution of gift acknowledgment letters.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to donors, staff, and families, ensuring trust and professionalism in every interaction.
  • Take independent action where required and handle unique problems.
  • Exercise diplomacy and tact and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a service-oriented mindset while working efficiently in a fast-paced office environment, managing frequent interruptions with professionalism and adaptability.
  • Possess the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and coordinate the work of others.
  • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to projects to create deliverables that are fresh and engaging.

Minimum Experience and Background:

  • Highly prefer a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of professional experience.
  • Willingness to learn and master CRM database, evidence of project management, and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exhibit strong listening and communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and clarity in person, via email, and over the phone.
  • Demonstrated effective collaboration in the workplace.
  • Strong follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
Requirements

Specific Requirements Include:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 25–30 pounds.
  • Comfortable working independently.

Other Requirements:

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • A consistent willingness and ability to support the vision, mission, critical issues, and core values of the school.
  • Ability and commitment to work occasional weekend and evening hours as needed.
