Operating Room RN CVOR
Location:
UT Southwestern – Dallas, TX
The RN CVOR Circulator position works under general supervision of physician, mid-level provider and/or nursing supervisor to provide nursing services in care and treatment of patients.

- Education
Graduate of NLN approved nursing program - Experience
1 year Operating Room RN experience - Licenses and Certifications
(NLC) Nursing Licensure Compact (BNE) or Current Texas license;
(BLS) Basic Life Support course accredited by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience
Scrub experience preferred;
Cardiac OR experience preferred - Licenses and Certifications
CNOR preferred
- Assesses and documents physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual health status of patient on admission using age-specific considerations; performs ongoing assessment during intraoperative phase; communicates relevant health status data to team members.
- Interprets health status data to anticipate patient, family, and physician needs; develops an appropriate plan of care; uses critical thinking to plan and prioritize intraoperative nursing care.
- Identifies and implements intraoperative nursing interventions based on health status data; completes accurate documentation; collaborates with health care team to support patient care.
- Evaluates interventions and modifies care as needed; documents changes to the plan of care; prioritizes intraoperative nursing interventions per patient data, physician, and planned procedures.
- Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice during intraoperative care.
- Provides timely patient education and documents education; communicates effectively with patients of all ages.
- Supervises, directs, and coordinates patient care assignments of other healthcare team members; delegates duties within legal parameters.
- Prepares for procedures by obtaining supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
- Serves as a technical resource and/or preceptor to nursing staff; completes clinical performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Handles and operates instruments, supplies, and equipment safely and cost-effectively without compromising quality of care.
- Identifies and resolves minor problems related to counts, patient care, equipment, and environment; supports a collaborative team environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Orientation
Schedule:
, Monday-Friday for up to 12 weeks. Taking call is required.
Security
