Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln. Dallas, TX 75231
- Trauma Administration

Work hours: Full-time: 40 hours per week

  • Four 10‑hour shifts (Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm)
  • One weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 1:00pm – 1:00am)

Here’s What You Need
  • Associate's Degree Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
  • 3 Years in Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care and/or Emergency Department related experience Required
  • Progressive leadership responsibility Preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 Days Required or ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course Upon Hire Required
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course Upon Hire Required or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse Upon Hire Required
What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies and procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate and individualize patient care, and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes (American College of Surgeons philosophy to obtain adequate data to initiate and implement performance improvement process to meet standard of trauma care).
  • Engage staff to promote evidence‑based practices within the unit. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements for compliance.
  • Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.
  • Provide safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.
  • Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations.
  • Use appropriate methodology consistently for communication handoffs.
  • Evaluate the outcome of patient care, consult with others on the patient care team, and adjust nursing care processes as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Manage and monitor patient and staff safety initiatives and outcomes.
  • Perform proactive risk assessments to identify potential issues.
  • Model the use of High Reliability Organization tools in everyday practice and encourage staff to do the same.
  • Assist with development and serve as a resource to others for new system‑and‑entity-based initiatives. Support ongoing sustainment of these changes.
  • Integrate ACS guidelines for trauma patient care into the continuum of patient care.
  • Coordinate efforts in the progressive growth of the trauma program with input into guideline development.
  • Identify trauma patients, respond to trauma activations, and participate in patient rounds and performance improvement process as indicated.
  • Apply knowledge of ACS guidelines to data maintenance/monitoring and performance improvement process.
