JOB SUMMARY

This position works under general supervision of a physician, and/or imaging and nursing supervisor to provide care and treatment to patients with diagnostic and therapeutic imaging needs and patients requiring management of cardiac rhythm devices.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
  • Education Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program either by a governmental authority, nursing board, or a licensing authority which has jurisdiction over approval/accreditation of nursing programs and
  • Experience Excellent IV skills, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Licenses and Certifications Successful completion of approved device training within 180 Days and (NLC) NURSING LICENSURE COMPACT‑BNE upon hire and (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire
Preferred
  • Education Bachelor's Degree BSN
  • Experience 1 year experience in an acute care setting and 2 years experience with interrogation, troubleshooting, and reprogramming of implantable cardiac devices
  • Licenses and Certifications Professional certification in a nursing organization upon hire
JOB DUTIES
  • Perform evaluation and reprogramming of implantable devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders.
  • Perform monitoring and other related non‑invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures.
  • Analyze results from device interrogations and report findings to physicians and/or nursing personnel.
  • Perform device management and documentation using designated cardiology information systems.
  • Providing care to patients in the MRI setting, working collaboratively with the MRI staff and providers, following MRI safety policy and procedures.
  • Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments. All assessments take into consideration age specific criteria (children, adolescents, adults and elder adults).
  • Actively anticipates patients and/or patient's family needs and expectations and utilizes these in conjunction with the assessment to develop an appropriate plan of care for the patient. Utilizes critical thinking skills in planning and prioritizing nursing care. Maintains and utilizes competencies per unit expectation.
  • Identifies and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on the completed assessment. Completes accurate and timely documentation of these interventions. Active coordinator of the interdisciplinary plan of care. Confers with all members of the health care team in a collaborative fashion. Shares information and observations of the patient and/or patient's family in a manner that advocates for optimal patient care.
