Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)

Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Dallas Charlton Cancer Center, Dallas, TX location. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30am‑5pm) with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and operational success. Awards are discretionary, reviewed annually, and governed by written terms. LTIP awards require continued employment through the payment date.

What does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, participate in company‑wide quality initiatives, and support the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients and obtaining medical history.
  • Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team, coordinating services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Participate in interprofessional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • Open to entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
  • Current RN state license from the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
