RN PACU

Join Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital (BHVH) as a Registered Nurse in our PACU Recovery unit.

The PACU is a fast‑paced environment caring for high‑acuity patients. Our leadership team fosters learning, mentoring and professional growth for every team member.

• Population:
  Vascular, Cardiology, Electrophysiology
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Number of Beds: 12
• Department specifics:
  Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists with bedside procedures; >95% BSN rate; world‑renowned surgeons; mandate strong practice councils and professional development support.

• Full‑time, day shifts 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., three 12‑hour shifts per week, scheduled Monday‑Friday.
• Must remain until the last patient is discharged (1–2 shifts per week).
• Flex off if all patients are discharged before 9:00 p.m.

• Approx. one full weeknight (Mon–Thu) every four months.
• One weekend every nine weeks.
• Two holidays per year.
• Procedural Nurse for day shift (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) approximately every six weeks.
• Must be able to respond within 60 minutes when on call.

• Minimum 2 years recent, full‑time PACU, ICU, and/or ER RN experience.
• Cardiac ICU experience is a plus.
• Must hold current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (within 30 days of hire).
• Expected to obtain CCRN.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting.
