Job Summary
- Part time – 7p to 7a shift
- Night shift (United States of America)
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Sign‑on Bonus Eligible
- Magnet Designated / Baldrige Campus
- A. Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and individualized care.
- B. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that is adapted to cultural diversity and specific population characteristics.
- C. Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely teaching.
- D. Practice current clinical standards and promote teamwork through effective communication and respectful, inclusive environments.
- E. Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, including timely documentation and respectful communication.
- F. Demonstrate teamwork and fiscal responsibility to support recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- G. Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- H. Complete professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- I. Serve as preceptor or mentor for nurses and staff to develop a qualified workforce.
- J. Promote evidence‑based practice, research, and performance improvement including value analysis.
- K. Uphold organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and standards such as TJC Patient Safety Goals.
- L. Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions, consult experts, and use evidence to address practice questions.
- M. Plan patient care across the continuum, support protocols, and utilize resources efficiently.
- N. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar policies.
Minimum Education
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – BLS, ARC‑BLS, or BLS‑I.
- Registered Nurse - Single State (RN) or RN‑COMPACT.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), ARC‑PALS, PALS‑I, or PALS‑Provisional (within 180 days).
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), ATCN, or TNCC‑Provisional (within 18 months).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), ARC‑ALS, ACLS‑I, ACLS‑Provisional (within 180 days).
Completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours and experience with direct patient care (preferred).
Required Minimum Skills- Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.
- Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology for clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
- Capability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
- Excellent time‑management and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to practice evidence‑based nursing with strong critical thinking.
