Work hours:

Full Time (Nights) 7p-7a (36hrs/wk.). Weekend and holiday requirements.

Department Highlights

The PCCU Surgical Telemetry Unit is a 35‑bed, high‑acuity telemetry unit located in Hamon Tower. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular surgical patients, Cath‑lab patients, heart failure patients, pacemakers, and all cardiac conditions. Patient ratio is 4:1‑5:1 depending on acuity. The unit offers self‑scheduling to support work/life balance.

Education
  • Nursing Diploma – Nursing Required or
  • Associate’s Degree – Nursing Required or
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing Preferred
Experience
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program – Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire – Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support – Required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support – Required within 90 days
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – Maintaining annually within 90 days
  • BCMSN – Board Certified Medical‑Surgical Nurse – Preferred or
  • CRRN – Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse – Preferred or
  • PCCN – Progressive Care Nurse Certified – Preferred
What You Will Do
  • Assess the patient
  • Plan the care of the patient
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporate age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ needs for information
  • Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and during out‑of‑hospital transfers
  • Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
