Position: Registered Nurse, NICU - Full Time, Nights

Registered Nurse (RN) NICU

Work location:

Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours:

Full Time, 36 Hours; 7:00pm - 7:00am

NICU Department highlights:
  • Fast-paced Level III NICU
  • Provides care for 22+ weeks
  • Cooling, High Frequency Ventilator
  • Supportive leadership supporting opportunities for certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing
What You Need
  • Diploma in Nursing required or
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One year of NICU experience strongly preferred
  • RN
    - Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS
    - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  • NRP
    - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
  • NRPA
    - Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
  • CPI
    - Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually
What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
