Registered Nurse (RN) NICU
Work location:
Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231
Work hours:
Full Time, 36 Hours; 7:00pm - 7:00am
- Fast-paced Level III NICU
- Provides care for 22+ weeks
- Cooling, High Frequency Ventilator
- Supportive leadership supporting opportunities for certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing
- Diploma in Nursing required or
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- One year of NICU experience strongly preferred
- RN
- Registered Nurse upon hire required - BCLS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and - NRP
- Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and - NRPA
- Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and - CPI
- Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
