OverviewWe are looking for a licensed LPN to serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues and of the Center Manager for operational matters.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, and self-exclusion.
- Interview donors to obtain medical history and review acceptance requirements.
- Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordinating with the Center Physician, developing standing orders, and arranging transport to emergency care.
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance, donor safety, and eligibility issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine need for occupational health evaluation, and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital setting experience.
Hourly Wage: $23.85 – $32.79 (may vary based on qualifications).
