PreOP​/Day Surgery Nurse

RN-Registered Nurse // Pre Op Onsite Contract Starts 8/17/2026 13 weeks

Day Shift 10 hours/day, 4 days/week

Pre‑Op/Day Surgery Nurse – Dallas, TX. Need someone familiar with Meditech, with day surgery, pre‑op or PAT experience to bridge the gap.

Schedule:

4 days, 4×10 (4×10). Day shifts 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Preferred experience:

Both adult or pediatric experience is ideal. Prioritization: adults, then pediatric.

Location

Adult Day Surgery – Medical City Dallas, 7777 Forest Lane, Dallas, TX. Floor: 2nd floor, Building A/Children’s Tower.

Unit Overview

• Number of Beds – 22
• Number of Staff – 41
• Staff mix Day Shift: 1 charge, 3 RN, 2 CNA, 1‑3 sitters. Day Surgery: 1 charge, 2‑3 pre‑op RN, 2‑3 post‑op RN, 1 PCT. Pre‑Admit Testing: 1 charge, 1 chart RN, 1 phone‑call RN, 3‑4 RNs. OR Holding: 1 charge, 2‑3 RN. Day Surgery IR: 1 charge, 1‑2 RN. Night Shift – closed at night.
• Patient ratios – Pre‑op, PAT and Holding: 1:1. Post‑op: 3:1.

Equipment & Experience

• Meditech, IV pumps, IV starts.
• Pediatric experience preferred or nice to have.
• Pre‑Admit Testing experience.

Typical Procedures

• General surgery, gynecology, orthopedics scopes.

Personality Fit

• Flexible, friendly, team player.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Floating Areas

• Pre‑op, Post‑op, Pre‑Admit Testing.

Dress Code

• Scrub color/attire – Royal Blue.

Scheduling

• Self‑scheduling with ability to move to meet unit needs.
• Must work 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per schedule period.
• Must work during inclement weather. Weekends and on‑call if any – none specified.
