Wound Care Nurse (RN)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Certified Wound Care Treatment Nurse to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Certified Wound Care Treatment Nurse is responsible for supervising nursing services and maintaining quality and adequacy of nursing practice. This role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to customer service through resident focused initiatives that support the mission of the community.
The key purpose of this position is to provide primary skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents' attending physicians, the Director of Nursing, or the Medical Director of the skilled nursing community, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders. You will also assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements of this state and the policies and goals of this facility.
This is a per diem/prn, hourly position, with a starting salary of $29.00+ per hour. In addition, Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere offers competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, generous PTO and holiday vacation time, and 401K.

- Conduct thorough wound assessments on patients, documenting wound characteristics, measurements, and treatment plans.
- Demonstrated a thorough knowledge of wound staging.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on patient needs, medical history, and physician orders.
- Administer wound care treatments, including wound cleansing, debridement, dressing changes, and application of topical medications.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and dressing changes.
- Perform skin assessment on all new residents on admission and weekly on all residents.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all wound assessments, treatments, and patient progress in electronic medical records.
- Stay informed about current wound care best practices, new treatment modalities, and evidence-based guidelines.
- Participate in wound care quality improvement initiatives and contribute to staff education and training.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and hygienic environment for wound care procedures.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current valid RN license in Texas.
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year of experience in wound care.
- Proficiency in performing wound debridement, dressing changes, and other wound care procedures.
