Position: Infusion BMT RN Sr.- PRN Weekend- Dallas Medical City

Position Overview

Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday 8:30 am–3:00 pm; occasional weekday shifts). A level I to Senior role based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration when applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications

Level I

  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0–3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level II

  • Minimum 3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level Senior

  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience, including at least 1 year in oncology.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
Working Conditions

Work environment typical of a oncology/hematology clinic; possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion; handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye–hand coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
