Work hours:

Fulltime;
Monday
- Friday (8:00a – 5:00p)

Exercise Physiology Dept highlights:

Research Nurse will work under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner and Lab Director to perform clinical and administrative tasks for various research projects as assigned including collecting research data and performing data entry. High degree of integrated teamwork with an engaged and supportive leadership team that encourages work/life balance.

Qualifications

Here's What You Need:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • Two years of ICU/CCU, Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality and safety in the lab
  • Professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs, works well with teammates, and communicates effectively.
  • Strong Computer Skills. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), able to easily learn and use web-based software applications for data collection/data entry
What You Will Do

Research Coordination:
Under the direction of the research project investigator carry out research procedures as outlined in protocol and assist with research projects as assigned.

Recruit study participants, schedule and perform study visits for data collection. Explain research study purpose and assure completeness and accuracy of information obtained. Explain the study to the participants and obtain written consent for participation.

Performs clinically indicated procedures on research subjects in accordance with skills including blood draws, blood pressures, exercise tests, and obtaining medical histories. Prepares participants' charts and assists with the physical examinations; consults the investigator or physician regarding risks or further details.

Monitors patients' compliance with protocol interventions including prescribed medication and diet, answers patients' questions, and reinforces physician's orders.

Collaborates with the nursing staff of the IEEM to develop and execute IEEM specific nursing policies and procedures.
