Schedule:

Taking call is required.
The RN Operating Room Circulator position works under general supervision to provide nursing services in the care and treatment of patients.

Education
- Graduate of NLN approved nursing program
Experience
- 1 year Operating Room RN experience
Licenses and Certifications
- (NLC) NURSING LICENSURE COMPACT-BNE or Current Texas license
- (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Experience
- Scrub Experience Preferred
- Complex Plastics, ENT, and/or Ophthalmology experience
Licenses and Certifications
- CNOR preferred
- Assesses and documents physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual health status of patient on admission, and performs ongoing assessment during intraoperative phase.
- Communicates relevant health status data to other team members and departments.
- Interprets health status data to anticipate patient, family, and physician needs and expectations, and develops appropriate plan of care.
- Identifies and implements appropriate intraoperative nursing interventions and documents them accurately and timely.
- Evaluates implemented interventions, modifies care accordingly, and documents changes.
- Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice while delivering intraoperative care.
- Provides appropriate and timely patient education and documents it.
- Supervises, directs, and coordinates patient care assignments of other team members; delegates duties within legal parameters.
- Prepares for procedures by obtaining supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
- Serves as technical subject matter person, resource person, and/or preceptor to nursing staff; completes written clinical performance evaluation forms promptly.
- Handles and operates instruments, supplies, and equipment, performing safe nursing care cost‑effectively.
- Solves minor problems related to counts, patient care, relationships, equipment, supplies, and environment prior to management intervention.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
