Overview
THIS IS A PRN POSITION FOR DENTON TX AREA. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role focuses on supporting patients with daily living activities, promoting comfort and safety, and assisting the clinical team in delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
- Assist with patient mobility, including transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment, including changing linens and sanitizing equipment.
- Document care provided and update patient records accurately.
- Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals with procedures and care tasks.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Texas.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR and proof of auto insurance.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must pass drug test.
- Basic knowledge of patient care practices and medical terminology.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from nursing staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Point Care charting system preferred but not required.
- Compassion and patient-centered care.
- Attention to detail and observation skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Time management and organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
CNAs work in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and memory care units.
Physical Requirements- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to safely move or assist patients.
- Manual dexterity for patient care tasks.
