Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Dallas Presbyterian location. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 am‑5 pm) with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations, demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age‑specific differences, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and supports compliance.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administer all medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience.
Education / Training Level I- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements.
- Entry level – 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- In addition to levels I and II:
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.
