Registered Nurse – Post‑Surgical Unit (PSU), Night Shift, Full Time

Location:

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown.

Sign‑on bonus: $10,000.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint‑venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. The hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical services to the greater North Texas area, including 8 operating rooms, 24 private inpatient rooms, and a full‑service emergency department. It specializes in inpatient and outpatient procedures in orthopedics, joint replacement, spine, general, bariatrics, surgical oncology, ENT, reconstructive surgery, and other surgical specialties.

The hospital is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post‑Surgical Unit (PSU) Department for a full‑time night shift opportunity. The RN will plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care services for post‑surgical patients in accordance with accepted standards of care. The RN ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care and maintains compliance with professional nursing standards, the Joint Commission, and all federal and state standards of care.

This position also responds to patients presenting to the facility with a healthcare need and will provide the medical screening exam as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.

Required Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • 1‑2 years’ experience as an RN in a hospital medical/surgery or ICU unit preferred.
  • Registered Nurse, currently licensed in the State of Texas.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
