Position: Infusion RN Sr. - Dallas Presbyterian

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Dallas Presbyterian location. This full‑time position runs Monday to Friday (8:30 am–5:00 pm) with no weekends, on‑call, or major holiday duties.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient and labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Experience:

  • Entry level: 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common conditions.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
