RN Nurse, Oncology Nurse
Overview
Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) PRN position for weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday 8:30 am–3 pm). Occasional weekday shifts are available.

Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess patient‑ and family‑needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.
- Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained before therapy administration.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient labs, consulting protocol, calculating dose, and communicating with physician regarding dosage adjustments and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse license in operating state; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain required continuing education.
- 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
- Oncology certification preferred.
The position is performed in a busy oncology/hematology clinic environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations may occur. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods. Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal limits.
