Overview
RN - Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU role with a focus on influencing patient care through collaborative relationships and participation in hospital initiatives. This position supports decisions that elevate patient outcomes and nursing practice.
Responsibilities- Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, focusing on critically ill patients with congenital heart disease and/or post-surgical care.
- Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain a comprehensive plan of care that is individualized, family-centered and holistic.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement.
- Maintain high-quality age-specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult populations.
- Support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Apply scientific knowledge; use a variety of equipment; and perform multiple technical procedures.
- Advocate for patients and provide consistent education to patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Demonstrate and apply technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- RN – Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
- Congenital heart experience and/or high-acuity PICU medical-surgical experience preferred.
