Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, Texas
The Manager of Perioperative Services will have dual responsibilties for both Dallas Medical Center and Dallas Regional Medical Center.
As an OR Nurse Manager for outpatient surgery procedures, you will oversee all aspects of patient care, resource management, and operational efficiency to ensure safe and effective outcomes for patients undergoing surgical interventions. This is a complex role that will involve coordination, supervision, and clinical oversight .
Responsibilities
- R esponsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels for outpatient procedures in the O perating Room (OR), which may involve creating schedules, assign ing staff, and coordinat ing with other departments to meet patient needs while optimizing efficiency
- M anage resources within the OR, including medical equipment, supplies, and medications required for outpatient procedures , including that all necessary materials are available and in good working condition
- S upervise patient care coordination throughout outpatient surgery procedures , ensur e patients are adequately prepared, coordinat e with anesthesia providers, and oversee post-procedure care and recovery
- E nsure that all outpatient procedures in the OR meet regulatory and quality standards , which involves adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety measures, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures
- P rovide clinical supervision and support to Operating Room staff, including circulating nurses, scrub nurses, surgical technologists, and other support personnel , you may also provide guidance on patient care issues, assist with complex cases, and facilitate staff training and development
- E nsur e effective teamwork and coordination, facilitate communication among surgical team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in outpatient procedures and throughout the perioperative process
- E vent of emergencies or complications during outpatient procedures , the RN OR Manager will provide leadership and direction to the surgical team, coordinat e efforts to ensure prompt and appropriate patient car e
- C onsult with staff, physicians, and nurse executives on nursing issues and hospital policy interpretation to meet patient needs, while also overseeing performance improvement and quality improvement activities and contributing to departmental budget formulation
Qualifications
- Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
- A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required
- CNOR; preferred.
- Current ACLS (AHA) Certification upon hire and maintain current
- At least two (2) years of experience in Surgical Nursing.
