RN Operating Room Plastics – 10K Sign‑On Bonus (260,000 DR)

Clements University Hospital

Orientation: 06:15‑14:45, Monday‑Friday for up to 12 weeks.

Requires call coverage.

The RN Operating Room Circulator works under general supervision of physicians, mid‑level providers, and/or nursing supervisors to provide nursing services in the care and treatment of patients.

• Education
  :
  Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) approved nursing program
• Experience
  :
  Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience
• Licenses and Certifications
  :
  • Nurses Licensure Compact‑BNE (NLC) or a current Texas license
  • BLS basic life support course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

• Scrub experience preferred
• Complex plastics, ENT, and/or ophthalmology experience
• CNOR certification preferred

• Assess and document the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual health status of patients at admission, using age‑specific concerns for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults; perform ongoing assessment of physiological health status during the intraoperative phase; communicate relevant health status data to team members and departments.
• Interpret health status data to anticipate patient, family, and physician needs and expectations; develop appropriate plans of care; utilize critical thinking to plan and prioritize intraoperative nursing care.
• Identify and implement appropriate intraoperative nursing interventions based on health status data; complete accurate and timely documentation of interventions; collaborate with all health‑care team members, sharing information and observations that contribute to optimal patient care.
• Evaluate implemented interventions and modify care according to evaluation; document interventions and modifications to the plan of care accurately and timely; prioritize intraoperative nursing interventions per patient health status data, physician, and planned procedures.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and nursing practice standards while delivering intraoperative nursing care.
• Provide appropriate and timely patient education to patients and/or families; document education provided accurately and timely; demonstrate effective communication with patients of all ages.
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate patient‑care assignments of other team members; delegate duties within legal parameters.
• Prepare for procedures by obtaining supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
• Serve as technical subject matter person, resource person, and/or preceptor to nursing staff; complete written clinical performance evaluation forms promptly.
• Handle and operate instruments, supplies, and equipment; perform safe nursing care in a cost‑effective manner without compromising quality of care.
• Resolve minor issues related to counts, errors, patient care, relationships, equipment, supplies, and environment prior to management intervention; support efforts to develop and maintain a team environment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
