The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who utilizes their expertise to coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems.
The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care for each patient.
The RN evaluates the patient’s response to the care provided.
The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through their healthcare encounters without preventable complications or delays.
The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on each patient’s condition and the competencies of the employees.
