Nursing Supervisor (Full Time-Nights) – Labor and Delivery

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas, TX 75231
Work hours: Full Time- 36 hours; 7:00pm-7:00am with rotating weekends
Labor And Delivery Department Highlights
- Focused on the experience of all who enter the hospital
- Promote family-centered care
- Supportive of the patient’s vision of the Labor & Delivery process
- Associate's Degree Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- 2 Years experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required
- Charge RN experience in Labor & Delivery highly preferred
- RN
- Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And - BCLS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required AND - NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire AND
- IFM
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if newly hired with experience in perinatal nursing AND never taken IFM 6 Months Req Or - IFM
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if no experience in perinatal nursing 18 Months - ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire AND
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
- CPI
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
- Collaborate with Leadership, UBC, and appropriate team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate and individualize patient care and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes.
- In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Nursing Supervisor, Labor & Delivery will:
- Engage staff to promote evidence based practices within the unit.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements for compliance.
- Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.
- Provide safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.
- Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations.
- Use appropriate methodology consistently for communication handoffs.
