Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU Clinical Supervisor, the Registered Nurse – Pre-Op/PACU provides comprehensive nursing care to ensure that patient care services are delivered in accordance with the hospital's mission, vision, and goals. The RN is responsible for preoperative preparation, post-anesthesia recovery, and the continuity of care throughout the perioperative process. This role focuses on ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborating closely with the surgical team.
The RN is responsible for upholding professional standards and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including those set by the state board of nursing, ASPAN, ANA, TXBON, and Joint Commission.
Required Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Texas RN License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited through American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications accredited through AHA (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
Specific Job
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience in a hospital setting, preferably in perioperative nursing.
- Experience in a high-volume surgical environment is highly preferred.
