Registered Nurse – NICU

$2154.24/week –

Job Summary:

Provide specialized neonatal nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process, ensuring safe and effective transitions for neonatal patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess neonatal patients’ conditions to identify nursing diagnoses and prioritize care needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
• Administer medications, including surfactant, and manage interventions such as PICC line placement within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and minimize preventable complications.
• Delegate appropriate interventions to healthcare personnel according to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and staff competencies.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Texas or Compact RN license.
• Possess at least 2 years of current NICU experience at Level III or IV.
• Demonstrate proficiency in HIE, surfactant administration, and PICC line management.
• Maintain current AHA or ARC BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
• Provide a resume, skills checklist specific to NICU, and two supervisory references from within the last year.
• Disclose any previous employment history with Parkland Health & Hospital System.
