The Registered Nurse (RN), in this position, provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. The RN provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs. This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and the interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will be proficient in the provision and coordination of patient centered care. RNs assess and evaluate patient conditions, plan, implement, provide, and document patient care that follows professional nursing standards and outlined practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinates the planning for the delivery of nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of patient care.
- Collaborates with, directs, and may delegate to the healthcare team in the attainment of positive outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional standards of care.
- Coordinates treatment plans; develops/implements discharge and/or transfer plans.
- Consider the diverse needs of each patient through the entire continuum of care, providing and ensuring the highest level of service according to established service standards, optimizing the patient experience.
- Adheres to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned, within scope of practice and clinical competencies.
- May be asked to float to other floors on an as needed basis
- Minimum (2) years’ experience as RN in a hospital environment
- 1 year of Emergency Care experience at a Trauma Level 1 or 2 facility
- Texas RN license (Graduated from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing as Registered Nurse/RN or Associate Degree in Nursing)
- Compact license is acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Current ACLS and PALS (Current BLS at time of hire; ACLS and PALS at time of hire or within thirty (30) days of hire)
- Any other required certifications pertinent to unit
- BSN
- Texas RN license
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy and imaging.
