American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring preemie and central line management experience, TX or compact RN license, NRP and BLS certification.
Details- Level III NICU with 108 beds located on the North Tower 4th floor
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
- Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
- Equipment used includes Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, Vents, Oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, Warmers, and Isolettes
- Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech
- 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7A-7P schedule, with rotating weekends and holidays
- Contract staff float before core staff to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU for patients under 2 years old
- Procedures performed on unit include central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience required
- Experience with preemies at 28 weeks gestation and above required
- Experience managing central lines required
- Respiratory management experience up to and including intubated patients required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Care for a NICU patient population including surgical and cardiac patients, infants under 27 weeks, tracheostomy infants, and broviac line management
- Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
