Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal intensive care to premature and critically ill infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and recovery. The RN NICU will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor advanced respiratory support, including ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen therapy.
- Perform invasive procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, and gastroschisis reductions.
- Manage complex patient needs, including care for infants less than 27 weeks gestational age, and support for trach and Broviac line care.
- Document patient status and interventions accurately using CPN and Meditech systems.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Float to adjacent units (PICU, Pediatrics, CICU) as needed for patient coverage.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with at least 1 year of experience in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care setting.
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
- Demonstrated expertise in caring for preemies (28 weeks and above), managing central lines, and respiratory support, including intubation.
- Strong procedural skills, including line insertions and neonatal emergency interventions.
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience caring for patients under 2 years old, with a focus on neonatal standards of care.
