Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal nursing care in a Level III NICU setting, supporting critically ill infants including preemies, cardiac, and surgical patients. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive neonatal care to infants, including those < 27 weeks gestation, using advanced clinical skills and equipment.
- Perform procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations.
- Manage respiratory needs, including ventilated and intubated patients, ensuring effective airway and breathing support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and interventions via CPN and Meditech systems.
- Collaborate with the team to coordinate patient care plans, including managing trach infants and implementing NICU policies.
- Support unit operations by adhering to schedules, floating policies, and professionalism standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid BLS and NRP certifications are required.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience, with proficiency in caring for preemies (?28 weeks), infants with central lines, and respiratory management.
- Demonstrated skills in managing trach infants, broviacs, and complex neonatal procedures.
- Strong ability to work 3-12 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating unit needs and ensure patient safety.
