JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide outpatient clinic coverage focused on general PM&R, spasticity management, and pain management across UT Southwestern’s Sprague and Aston clinic locations.
Working under physician supervision and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the APP will evaluate and manage patients with a variety of rehabilitation, pain, and neurologic-related conditions. Responsibilities include patient assessments, treatment planning, follow-up care, medication and pump management, patient and family education, care coordination, and ongoing management of established patients.
This clinic-based role is ideal for an APP who is comfortable practicing with autonomy, enjoys working with complex chronic pain and spasticity populations, and is interested in growing within a collaborative PM&R practice. The position offers the opportunity to support a patient population with meaningful long-term care needs while partnering closely with physicians, APP colleagues, nurses, and support staff. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Education
- Master's degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. OR
- Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. OR
- Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. AND
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.

JOB DUTIES
- Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status.
- Synthesizes data and utilizes evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
