Nurse Manager of Pediatric ICUJob Summary

The Nurse Manager of Pediatric ICU is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will manage a team of nurses and support staff, develop and implement policies and procedures, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and best practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes and implement changes as needed
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage
  • Manage the unit budget and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff
Qualifications
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Pediatric ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
