The Internal Medicine, Cardiology division is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join their Heart Failure Clinic. This provider is responsible for delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with heart failure and other cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient setting. Working collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary team members, the APP evaluates, diagnoses, and manages patients across the continuum of heart failure care, including medication optimization, symptom management, patient education, and prevention of hospital readmissions.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care. Experience in cardiology, heart failure management, or advanced chronic disease management is preferred. The APP serves as a key resource for patients and families, providing education, support, and ongoing monitoring to promote successful self-management and optimal health outcomes. Monday-Friday daytime hrs, no weekends nights, or call.

Graduate of a master’s degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. OR

Master’s degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.

Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required. Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. OR

Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.

Current applicable Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
