American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience in a mixed acuity ICU/PCU/MS unit.
Details- Neuro ICU in a mixed acuity ICU/PCU/MS unit
- Accepts all trauma patients, including neuro trauma
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Epic EMR experience required
- Weekends, floating, and holidays may all be required
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Military certifications accepted, AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Proficiency with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration required
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube care required
- CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management experience required
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips required
- Neurological specialty skills required, including EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, hypothermia protocol, CVA/stroke, TBI, and post-neurosurgery management
- Cardiac monitoring skills required, including dysrhythmia management, Flo Trac/Vigileo monitoring, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Sheath removal and IV insulin protocol experience required
- Social Security number, date of birth, and state-issued for consideration
- Provide critical care nursing to a mixed acuity neuro, ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical patient population
- Perform phlebotomy and maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
- RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request permitted during Nov-Jan holiday season; all RTO must be approved prior to contract signing
- Local candidates within 90 miles accepted at a lower bill rate
