Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Texas licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for upcoming locum tenens coverage in San Angelo, Texas.

This opportunity offers multiple ways to provide coverage, including OB/Labor & Delivery day shifts, Main OR coverage, and select 24-hour holiday shifts. CRNAs practice independently, utilize Epic EMR, and can be considered based on their availability and clinical experience.

There is no minimum shift commitment. Whether you're available for select holiday dates or interested in broader coverage, we'd like to connect.

Current Coverage Needs

OB / Labor & Delivery

  • Day

    Shift: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Current Dates:
    • December 24–25
    • December 28–30
  • OB-only clinical coverage
  • Additional CRNA supports the daytime service alongside existing 24-hour CRNA coverage
  • Approximately 120–150 deliveries per month
  • Strong epidural proficiency required
  • NRP required

24-Hour Holiday Coverage

Current holiday coverage needs include:

  • December 24–26
  • December 31–January 2

Specific clinical responsibilities and scheduling for the 24-hour coverage will be confirmed during the scheduling process.

Main OR Coverage

  • Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Coverage pattern:
    Saturday–Wednesday
  • Current specific dates have not yet been released
  • Independent CRNA practice
  • 13 Main ORs
  • Clinical team includes approximately 6 CRNAs and 12 anesthesiologists

Main OR case exposure may include:

  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Neuro / Craniotomy cases
  • Stroke Interventional Radiology
  • Select Trauma
  • Regional anesthesia

The Main OR assignment does not include OB coverage.

There are no cardiac, thoracic/lung, or high-acuity pediatric cases identified within the current Main OR need.

OB/L&D Clinical Scope

CRNAs providing OB coverage should be highly comfortable practicing within a dedicated Labor & Delivery environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Labor epidural placement and management
  • Regional anesthesia
  • Obstetric anesthesia management
  • Independent assessment and monitoring of obstetric patients
  • Collaboration with the L&D clinical team
  • Timely documentation within Epic

Candidate Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
  • Current NBCRNA certification
  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Active Texas license
  • Strong independent-practice clinical skills
  • Regional anesthesia competency
  • Current required life-support certifications appropriate to assigned clinical scope
  • NRP required for OB coverage
  • Strong epidural proficiency required for OB coverage
  • Appropriate Main OR experience for candidates seeking surgical coverage
