Laboratory Technician – Early Morning Shift (4:30AM Start)

As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor in one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. Your work will help veterinarians diagnose and treat pets through laboratory testing.

• Use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to test blood, urine, fecal, and biopsy samples.
• Set up, run, and read laboratory tests, and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Specialize in one or more of the following areas:
  • Hematology: Evaluate blood components, including microscopic blood smear analysis and automated/manual counting.
  • Chemistry / Endocrinology: Test blood and body fluids for analytes using automated instrumentation.
  • Urinalysis: Analyze chemical and microscopic components of urine samples with automated and manual techniques.
  • Cytology: Prepare and stain blood and body fluids for microscopic examination by pathologists.
  • Immunology / Serology: Detect antibodies or antigens in blood and other samples to identify viral and bacterial diseases.

• Clinical pathology skillset, either from a veterinary or human laboratory setting.
• Mandatory ability to work the early‑morning shift, starting at 4:30AM, on a long‑term basis.
• Veterinary laboratory experience (RVT, LVT, CVT, MLT, or MT) is a plus.
• Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, and diagnostic analyzers.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and precision.
• Positive, team‑spirit attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Physical capability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift up to 50lb, and meet specific vision requirements.
• 2–4year science‑related degree preferred but not required.

• Hourly pay: $22 per hour.
