  • Develop and manage corporate safety initiatives for Western US Operations in cooperation with the Director of Safety US Operations
  • Work with personnel at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the Western US Region, excluding a strategic account
  • Support regional field leadership with environmental, health, and safety issues and best practices
  • Maintain accident-prevention and loss-mitigation programs within operational policies
  • Determine corrective or preventative measures and verify implementation
  • Communicate expectations, goals, standards, and progress metrics
  • Attend and support Safety Management meetings with internal and external parties
  • Develop, follow up, and verify completion of KPI-based action items
  • Maintain health and safety leadership and awareness skills among Safety Managers
  • Manage safety training needs according to E2 Optics and customer guidelines
  • Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise throughout applicable US operations
  • Manage compliance inspections, audits, and tracking
  • Lead accident and injury investigations and support lessons-learned communications
  • Review, compile, and submit accident reports
  • Work with the Director of Safety US Operations and HR to administer workers' compensation, reduce lost time, and manage claims
  • Support Human Resources with drug, alcohol, and medical screening as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Environmental Science Safety, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Safety Management, Business Management, Psychology, or similar study
  • 5+ years of Safety Management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) required
  • ASP/CSP/SMS Certification preferred
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience within Occupational Health and/or Safety in a construction or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws
  • Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews, and job safety analysis
  • Experience with Safety Management programs
  • Knowledge of curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction, and measuring training effects
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, safety modeling/SOPs, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, and requirements

    Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools for building or repairing structures in regional data centers
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to sit, use hands and arms, communicate verbally, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift/move up to 40 pounds regularly and 25 pounds frequently, carry and climb ladders to 20 feet, and work in tight or confined spaces
  • Must be able to operate scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs if required
