Job Description

As a Quality Control Technician at Cornerstone Building Brands, you will be responsible for ensuring that windows and related materials meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products. You will perform inspections, document findings, and communicate quality issues to ensure that only high-quality windows are shipped to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.

* Identify defects, measure dimensions, and ensure products meet established requirements.

* Accurately document inspection findings and maintain detailed records using logs, reports, and quality software systems.

* Perform required quality audits of production activities to ensure adherence to company procedures and quality standards.

* Communicate quality concerns, defects, or deviations to supervisors, engineers, and production teams for prompt resolution.

* Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process and product improvement.

* Assist with troubleshooting quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

* Provide first-level quality support to Production Associates on product specifications, quality standards, and inspection procedures.

* Train Production Associates on quality requirements, best practices, and defect prevention.

* Complete data entry for quality reports and ensure accuracy and timeliness of documentation.

* Assist in developing, maintaining, and retaining quality records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

* Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors, and associates across shifts to ensure continuity of information regarding quality issues.

* Provide support and communication with external stakeholders including customers, field sales, marketing, and warranty personnel when necessary.

* Collaborate with departmental supervisors to prioritize work and remove obstacles that may delay product delivery to customers.

* Support operational goals by maintaining high standards for quality, productivity, and safety in all assignments.

* Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by Quality Department leadership.

* Strong attention to detail:
The ability to identify subtle defects and variations

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes:
Understanding of the different stages of window manufacturing

* Good communication skills:
The ability to clearly document findings and communicate concerns to others

* Basic computer skills:
Proficiency in using software for documentation and data analysis

* Ability to follow procedures:
Adherence to safety protocols and quality control guidelines

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma:
Methodologies are valuable for identifying and addressing quality issues

* Knowledge of specific industry standards:
Familiarity with standards related to window manufacturing

* Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift and move window units
