We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Safety Supervisor to oversee and maintain food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs within our manufacturing facility. The Food Safety Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring products meet all food safety standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
This position works closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality teams to implement and monitor food safety systems, conduct audits, investigate issues, and drive corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Compliance- Maintain and enforce food safety programs in compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, BRC, and customer requirements.
- Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and preventive controls.
- Lead food safety and quality audits, inspections, and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and pest control programs.
- Assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Review quality records, production documentation, and laboratory results.
- Investigate food safety incidents, consumer complaints, non-conformances, and product holds.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Monitor trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supervise and mentor food safety and quality personnel.
- Develop and deliver food safety, GMP, sanitation, and quality training programs.
- Partner with production leadership to promote food safety awareness throughout the facility.
- Support employee development and performance management activities
- Maintain food safety plans, SOPs, work instructions, and compliance records.
- Prepare reports on audit findings, corrective actions, KPI metrics, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record retention in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field. Will consider experience in lieu of degree
- 3+ years of food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, sanitation programs, and food safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
