The Lead QA Engineer, Tax Product Development (Lead Engineer) is responsible for implementing quality assurance strategies, managing testing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that products or services meet high quality standards. The Lead Engineer leads the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as QTP and Selenium.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Participate in test planning, strategy, and execution.
- Perform regression testing to ensure issues are resolved.
- Provide detailed documentation and reports on testing activities.
- Identify opportunities to automate testing processes and implement automation frameworks.
- Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and technologies.
- Communicate testing status and findings to stakeholders, including developers, product owners, and project managers.
- Proactively identify and escalates quality risks to relevant parties.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging testing technologies.
- Analyze testing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Mentor a team of Quality Analysts, assigning tasks, providing feedback, and driving performance.
- Lead initiatives to implement best practices in quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Finance, or Accounting, preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of experience as a Quality Analyst with a proven track record in leading complex projects, required.
- Experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on leadership roles, required.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, preferred.
- Experience with test case design techniques (e.g., equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis), preferred.
- Leadership experience in managing a team of quality analysts, preferred.
- Certification in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB), preferred.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, required.
- Experience in working with Selenium, QTP, SQL, Jira, Dev Ops, Java, C#, required.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in hybrid and remote environments.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills, including training/instruction with professionals at all levels.
- Demonstrated sound decision‑making skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to work in a deadline‑driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details.
- Capable of successfully multi‑tasking while working independently or within a group environment.
- Able to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Salary & Compensation
National Range: $140,000 - $210,000
Maryland Range: $140,000 - $210,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $210,000
