This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Dallas team, located in Dallas, TX (on-site). The Quality Control Specialist is responsible - 2nd shift for inspecting, testing, and verifying products or materials to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. This role document findings, identify defects or process deviations, and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.
ESSENTIALJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, test, and evaluate materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet company and regulatory quality standards, perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using measuring tools, testing equipment, and established protocols.
- Inspect products in all stages of the manufacturing process and identify issues and materials that are or may lead to defects, performing both physical, object-in-hand inspections as well as analyzing production including but not limited to quality reporting to isolate issues detracting from final product quality.
- Inspect raw materials, monitor production processes, and test finished goods.
- Utilize LOT traceability systems to support product recalls, investigations and customer complaints, ensuring accurate and timely identification of affected product batches.
- Conduct regular quality assessments and inspections, develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines, and collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement. ?
- Perform root cause analysis on quality defects, prepare detailed reports on quality tests and inspections, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to identify deviations and ensure consistent adherence to specifications and GMP/SQF standards.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with specifications, statistical process control (SPC), or other control procedures. Provide feedback to other departments regarding product conformity and maintain necessary inspection logs and inspection reports.
- Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct, perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products, and eliminate products that are not up to standards while finding the reasons for product problems.
- Train and mentor staff on quality control processes, GMP/SQF compliance, LOT traceability procedures and best practices.
- Engage in continual process improvement techniques to form recommendations on how best to streamline manufacturing processes in ways that preserve or increase final quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- Required to take a Munsel Hue Color Assessment (require a score of 100 or less unless accommodation can be made my management).
- Capability to utilize problem-solving skills
- Ability to add, subtract, and multiply two-digit numbers to determine proper pallet counts and understand the production schedule.

The employee is frequently required to walk up raised platform steps. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
