Location: Hagerstown, MD

Pay Rate: $38/hour and per diem for qualified candidates

We are seeking experienced A&P Certified Aircraft Inspectors II to support a leading aerospace organization in Hagerstown, MD. In these critical roles, you'll help ensure aircraft, avionics systems, structural modifications, repairs, systems, and components meet the highest standards of airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and quality .

Whether you're an experienced Aircraft Inspector ready to take the next step in your career or a seasoned inspection professional prepared to serve as a technical quality authority, your expertise will play a direct role in delivering safe, reliable, mission-ready aircraft.

What You'll Do Inspection & Quality Assurance
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, components, structural modifications, repairs, installations, and adjustments.

  • Inspect aircraft avionics manufacturing, installation, integration, testing, wiring, and associated systems.

  • Verify work complies with FAA regulations, OEM/manufacturer specifications, engineering requirements, FAA Part 145 requirements, and company quality standards .

  • Identify, document, and track discrepancies, defects, non-conformances, and airworthiness issues.

  • Verify corrective actions are completed and inspection requirements are satisfied before work progresses.

  • Perform final inspections of qualifying minor work and approve return to service within authorized inspection scope, as applicable.

  • Review aircraft, systems, equipment, and component condition to determine compliance with applicable requirements.

  • Support audit readiness and continuous compliance with established inspection processes and procedures.

Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Review work orders, maintenance records, aircraft logbooks, engineering documentation, inspection records, and other technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Complete inspection checklists, non-conformance reports, quality records, and other required documentation.

  • Ensure maintenance and inspection activities are properly documented in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records supporting aircraft airworthiness and traceability.

  • Support internal and external quality audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Work closely with aircraft mechanics, technicians, engineers, production personnel, and quality teams to resolve technical discrepancies and inspection findings.

  • Participate in pre- and post-inspection briefings.

  • Provide technical guidance and quality recommendations to maintenance and production personnel.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced inspectors and technicians, as appropriate.

  • Support training related to inspection procedures, quality requirements, and technical documentation.

Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend improvements to inspection processes, procedures, checklists, and quality systems.

  • Assist with developing inspection procedures, quality checklists, and training materials.

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection accuracy, efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Active, current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P), Airframe (A), Powerplant (P), or Repairman Certificate. Both A&P required for Level III.

  • Aircraft maintenance, repair, and/or inspection experience:

  • Aircraft Inspector II: Typically 2+ years of relevant aircraft inspection or aviation experience.

  • Aircraft Inspector III: Typically 5+ years of relevant aircraft maintenance, repair, and inspection experience.

  • Experience inspecting aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, components, or maintenance activities.

  • Knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, equipment, parts, and avionics.
