Job Summary

The Research Postdoctoral Fellow is a trainee preparing for a career in clinical research. This position will train in clinical and translational research methods, practices, and programs. The role involves working closely with animal models, specifically mice, to advance scientific understanding and requires local travel to animal housing facilities to ensure proper care and experimental procedures.

Essential Functions Of

The Role
  • Perform islet transplants in mouse models using survival surgical procedures
  • Perfrom mouse/human islet functional analysis using cell culture, ELISA methods.
  • Assesment of immune response in mouse model.
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and examines data.
  • Assists in establishing new research protocols and procedures, as requested.
  • Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals.
Key Success Factors
  • Must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program in a related field of study related to the assignment.
  • Three years of laboratory research experience is preferred
